The Anatomy, Histology, and Embryology resource guide provides students a brief list of anatomy, histology and embryology resources available from the PCOM Library, including comprehensive lists of online databases, physical and electronic books, and histology-specific resources.
VisualDx is an award-winning diagnostic clinical decision support system designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy, aid therapeutic decisions, and improve patient safety. While clinicians use VisualDx to quickly build a custom differential diagnosis across general medicine, VisualDx can teach students how to build an appropriate differential and avoid common diagnostic pitfalls. Information-assisted decision-making is far more beneficial than just memory-based education.
The VisualDx app also features DermExpert, an add-on feature that helps non-dermatologists better understand, diagnose, and treat skin conditions. The feature lets clinicians take a picture of the patient’s skin condition. Using artificial intelligence and machine learning, the application analyzes the lesion type, then provides simple questions to quickly get to a differential diagnosis.
Did you know that the PCOM Library acquires copies of most required textbooks? Electronic formats are preferred, but when the ebook version is unavailable, the Library will purchase physical copies and keep them on reserve in the library of each campus where the course is taught.
