Masterclass Webinar: What is the Best Way to Teach Physiology?
Sep 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM EDT
In this webinar, Dr. Jonathan Kibble will provide examples of how to evolve from traditional lecture-based teaching to a blended active learning approach. In recent studies, Dr. Kibble and colleagues reported on sharply declining lecture attendance, and the lack of relationship between in-person attendance and performance on medical knowledge examinations. Learning goals are now changing towards greater emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving rather than just showing knowledge. They are concerned that lack of engagement with faculty and peers may harm professional identity formation in learners and they are working on including more authentic learning sessions to motivate and engage students.
