Happy October, everyone! Did you know that this month marks the 17th annual celebration of LBGT History Month? During this time we recognize important moments in the history of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Check out the LGBT History Collection from Kanopy to watch documentaries that chronicle the achievements, struggles, and history of the LGBT community.

New and Improved Refworks

On December 11, the Library will be moving forward with the new RefWorks.

This improved version makes it easier to manage and organize your research.

To help manage the migration process, the library is available for one-on-one training or small group sessions. Please submit your request here: https://stagepcom.wpengine.com/instruction/

To learn more about the new version of RefWorks, please visit the RefWorks guide. The guide features an overview of Refworks and includes instructions for importing references from Legacy RefWorks.

National Medical Librarians Month

October is National Medical Librarians Month, which celebrates and raises awareness of the important role of health information professionals.

Research demonstrates that librarian-led information services and resources improve clinical decision making and patient-care outcomes. They also have a direct impact on the quality of research conducted by helping users stay current about advances in their specialty areas. Librarians teach students and healthcare providers how to find and evaluate information.

Essentially, librarians are experts in areas such as information management and services, evidence-based practice, and instructional design.

While the individual responsibilities and topics of expertise of the library staff varies, all of us share the utmost commitment to helping you save time and succeed in your patient-care, research, or educational goals.
